University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN

This four-year private institution was named the country’s 20th best college by the U.S. News and World Report (2010). The Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) program is offered at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business and includes majors in marketing, finance, and accountancy. A BBA in Management may also be pursued by undergraduates who can choose from concentrations in information technology management, entrepreneurship, or consulting. Mendoza offers an International Study Program, alongside a variety of internship opportunities, to afford students the experience necessary to pursue careers in finance, marketing, or management.

University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA

University of Virginia is a public institution that Thomas Jefferson founded in 1819 was named the country’s 24th best college by the U.S. News and World Report (2010). In order to be admitted to the university’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Commerce, offered through the McIntire School of Commerce, interested students have to complete two years of core courses. Students are admitted to McIntire on a selective basis. In 2009, only 60% of those who sought admission were successful in enrolling; 311 admissions were granted out of 521 applications received by the school.

Admitted students have to complete an Integrated Core Experience that lasts a year and focuses on effective teamwork and self-governance. At least one specialized area of study is chosen by students during the fourth year from a range of disciplines, including accounting, finance, international business, marketing, management, and information technology.
