University of Michigan – Ann Arbor
In 2014, the U.S. News and World Report ranked the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor fourth best on its list of best public universities in the United States. In 2012, the university also topped the publication’s list of top graduate social work programs. A specific practice method and area of concentration are available to students enrolled in the Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) program. A required internship is completed by students; this can take place in public schools, correctional facilities, advocacy groups, and psychiatric centers.

A Master of Science (M.S.) in Social Work is offered at Columbia that full-time students can complete within two years and part-time students within four years.
