These include the University of Maryland – College Park (UMCP) and the University of Pittsburgh (UP). University of Maryland – College Park

The U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Maryland – College Park 56th on its 2011 national ranking of top universities. The master’s program in telecommunications is jointly available through the Robert H. Smith School of Business and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The 30-credit program is available in both part-time and full-time formats featuring technical education plus instruction in public policy, management, and regulations. The program offers various specialty subject areas including entrepreneurship and network security.

University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania

The U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Pittsburgh 64th on its 2011 national ranking of top universities. A Master of Science (M.S.) in Telecommunications is available at the School of Information Sciences. An area of specialization is the exclusive focus of 21 credits of this 37-credit program; students are given choices such as telecommunications systems, policy and management, security, and wireless systems. Students enrolled in the program can complete it within a year of full-time study or four years of part-time study. Past graduates have found employment with Cisco Systems, General Electric, and U.S. Steel.
