Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree Programs in Communication Arts

Students enrolled in associate’s degree programs are generally imparted a combination of technical training and experience of interpersonal, visual, written and verbal communication skills. Students can expect to acquire practical and theoretical knowledge while being imparted a broad understanding of techniques and methods of communication employed by the broadcast production, media and advertising industries. They will also become adept in the skills necessary to operating industry-standard equipment and software programs.

It usually takes two years for students to complete associate’s degree programs. Those who successfully complete the program can pursue entry-level occupations in the media, broadcasting, advertising or journalism industries. Alternatively, they may seek continued education in communications or a related field.

Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.
