A.A.S. Programs in Digital Filmmaking and Multimedia

Digital Filmmaking and Multimedia AAS programs are devised to help students become adept at creating, editing, manipulating and presenting graphic and visual communications by employing various media. Foundational design concepts relating to scale, lighting, color, layout and composition, are taught in these programs. Students are expected to demonstrate the application of these ideas in web media, graphic design projects, illustrations, and video and film projects. Using software and hardware, students will become adept in practical technical skills in editing, design and animation.

Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.

Continuing Education Choices

Those who successfully complete Digital Filmmaking and Multimedia programs enjoy a wide array of educational options that could depend on an individual’s career goals and the recruiter’s requirements. These professionals can seek work in firms that offer assistant or trainee positions. Other jobs may prefer candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in a related field; prospective recruiters in these firms might aim at earning a 4-year degree in Multimedia Design, Film or Video Production, or Graphic Design, among other similar fields.
