Multimedia and web design features the use of computer graphics, digital programs, and 3-D animation to create interactive products or design websites. Students will be prepared for entry-level work with an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree program in multimedia and web design.

A.A. Programs in Multimedia and Web Design

Students enrolled in Associate’s Degree Programs in Multimedia and Web Design can expect to become adept at the artistic and technical skills they would need to accomplish a competency in the advertising or entertainment fields. Students are taught ways of manipulating digital images or 3-D models for customers with an interest in animation, including the use of programs like Photoshop and Flash. Students with an interest in Web design would benefit from completing courses in typography, scripting and programming languages. Admission criteria typically require applicants to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.

Students are helped with developing portfolios that feature their best work in animation, art, web design and typography. Schools offer courses related to multimedia technology and web design in topic areas such as:
