B.B.A. Programs

Students enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree program are taught skills devised to help the pursuit of a variety of administrative and management positions in an organization. Students trained in a BBA program are able to take part in various business positions via coursework that includes subject areas such as management, marketing, and human resources. Completion of a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration degree program will provide students with a rudimentary education in management and business principles.

Students are allowed to focus on specializations in one of several concentration areas, such as computer information systems, international business, accounting, finance, real estate, and marketing. Practical management training is provided through BBA programs to train students to work successfully in small or large organizations. Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma, in addition to completing assessment tests in English and math.

Coursework

Coursework in the BBA program is devised to teach students quantitative reasoning, marketing, management, business analysis skills, and communication. BBA courses also impart knowledge of business processes and practices, an understanding of the role of economics in the world marketplace and an awareness of global business issues. Coursework may include topic areas such as:

•Entrepreneurship fundamentals
•Economics
•Budget development
•Consumer behavior
•Business law and ethics
•Business theory
•Human resource management
•Project management
•E-business

Career Choices

Those who successfully complete a BBA program can seek management positions in business organizations. Business administration graduates may be sought by recruiters for a wide array of positions in diverse business areas, including positions such as:

•Sale manager
•Cost estimator
•Security officer
•Operation manager
•Loss prevention manager

Continuing Education Choices

After they complete a BBA, graduates may seek continued education by enrolling in a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program aimed at qualifying for top executive positions or promotions. Those who hire for positions such as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) often desire MBA degree holders. Schools also offer doctoral programs in business administration, which business professionals can earn before seeking work as university professors, executives or consultants.
