Bachelor of Science in Business (B.S.B.) Degree Program in Public Administration

Students enrolled in public administration bachelor’s degree programs can expect to become adept at handling problems, tackling issues, and leading personnel in a business setting. Students will be taught effective and efficient decisions to facilitate the continual growth of the organization. Most programs offer training in global business, whereby students may prepare to seek employment with companies involved in international business.

While programs focus on training students for employment in nonprofit organizations, graduates will also be able to work in public sector agencies. Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or a high school diploma.

•Government agencies
•Global corporations

Job and Wage Outlook

A job growth rate of 27% has been predicted for social and community service managers over the 2010 – 2020 decade (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). Over the same period, administrative services managers may see a 15% growth. In May 2012, social and community service managers brought home an average annual wage of $59,970. During that year, administrative services managers earned $81,080 on average (BLS).

Continuing Education Choices

Graduates of the bachelor’s degree program can pursue continuing education through the master’s degree program in public administration, whereby they can delve into problems in administrative law, public program evaluation, and public personnel administration.

Schools may offer graduate degree programs in both online and hybrid formats, wherein students are allowed flexibility. Bachelor’s degree holders may also avail graduate certificate programs in various areas, including nonprofit studies.
