Graduate Degree Programs in Business Management

Schools offer various master’s degree programs for students seeking to expand their knowledge of management and business principles. The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree is the most common type of advanced management degree that schools offer at the graduate level. Two-year M.B.A. graduate-level programs are devised to train students in an in-depth manner and prepare them for executive-level careers in the world of business.

Various M.B.A. options are available through numerous schools; these include the one-year Executive M.B.A., the standard two-year M.B.A. for graduate students, and the Professional M.B.A. for working businesspeople.

Students enrolled in a traditional MBA program are provided with a thorough background in economic trends, accounting skills, operational management skills, organizational tools, and business strategies. Students learn through individual research, group assignments, and classroom participation.

Students enrolled in most M.B.A. degree programs are also allowed to choose a particular concentration of focus, such as marketing or management. Hybrid or 100% online formats are available for some programs.

Education Requirements

Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a bachelor’s degree, in addition to at least two years of professional experience. Some schools may require more from applicants, especially for executive or professional M.B.A. programs. Incoming students are also expected to have an educational background in management, business, or a related area, in addition to a strong grade point average.
