Master of Management (MM) Degree Program in Public Administration

Majors Overview November 16, 2015

This article talks about Master of Management (M.M.) degree programs in Public Administration and their education requirements, coursework, career choices, and wage outlook.

Master of Management (M.M.) Degree Programs in Public Administration

No school offers a Master of Management (M.M.) degree program in Public Administration; those keen on studying the subject in a graduate-level program can pursue a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree. Courses or even whole specializations in non-profit management are available through several such programs.

Enrollees in an MPA program learn about developing and managing regulations, policies, and rules for a government agency, company, or non-profit organization. Graduates can expect to build their knowledge of public policy and political situations, in addition to enhancing their management and administrative skills. Apart from non-profit management, the program also offers other specialized areas of concentration such as environmental, urban, or emergency administration.

Program graduates can further their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration that could build their analytical and research skills and train them for roles in consulting, academia, research and management.

Admission criteria in this highly competitive program typically require incoming students to meet stringent requirements. Applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree, meet an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0, submit Graduate Record Exam scores, and letters of recommendation and complete a personal essay.
