Master of Science Degree Program in Holistic Nutrition
Few schools, if any, offer Master of Science (M.S.) program in Holistic Nutrition. Students interested in the subject may choose an MS program in Nutrition that carries recognition by the Holistic Nutrition Credentialing Board (HNCB). These programs involve the examination by participants of the effects of diet and lifestyle choices on the body, mind and spirit. They learn about enzymatic nutritional therapies, alternative healthcare options, general holistic nutrition, holistic human development, and disease prevention. Graduates qualify to sit the HNCB board exam to gain certification as a holistic nutrition professional. However, only some states recognize HNCB credentialing.
Education Requirements
Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a bachelor’s degree, in any major of the student’s choice. Students with a major in an unrelated area must complete prerequisite coursework such as anatomy, physiology, introductory nutrition and biochemistry.
