There are several schools that offer a graduate degree program in aerospace engineering, and related fields, such as astronautical and aeronautical studies. Two highly rated schools are the California Institute of Technology (Cal Tech) and Princeton University. A 1-year graduate degree program in aerospace engineering is offered at Cal Tech while several graduate options are available to students at Princeton. California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA
In 2014, the U.S. News & World Report rated the California Institute of Technology second best on its list of the nation’s best engineering graduate schools in the areas of aeronautical, aerospace, and astronautical engineering. Five degree plans are available to students at the school, including a Master of Science (M.S.) in Aerospace Engineering. Students enrolled in this 1-year, full-time program are allowed to work with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, in addition to numerous research centers in the vicinity of the Cal Tech campus.
Princeton University in Princeton, NJ
In 2014, the U.S. News & World Report rated Princeton, the fourth-oldest university in the United States, at the top of its list of the nation’s best schools. Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), Master of Science in Engineering (M.S.E.), and doctoral degrees in aerospace and mechanical engineering are available at Princeton’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. The department’s 12 laboratories are available for students to work in, apart from six associated labs on the campus.
