Associate Financial Aid Director Job Description

The Associate Financial Aid Director is responsible for partnering with the members of the student financial services leadership team, to keep the mission and strategic plan of the university their top priority. Provision of direction, guidance, leadership, and mentoring is of grave importance in fulfilling the organizations overall vision.

As an active member of the university, the Associate Financial Aid Director takes the initiative to support new enrollees, which have recently been accepted to the university, in addition to current students, so they could find the resources needed to pay for their college expenses. This individual will work firsthand with the student financial service department to promote and encourage adequate planning, development, and training, and improve student and organizational performance. By enhancing student performance, the Associate Financial Aid Director will ensure the organization is successful.

Alignment with the university’s focus and their goals will allow them to utilize all of the organizations resources, in hopes of continuously improving their financial aid services. The Associate Financial Aid Director is responsible for the administration of organizational and privately sponsored scholarships that will support students at the university.

The Associate Financial Aid Director will serve as the university’s coordinator by providing administrative support for scholarship committees, and serving as a member on these committees. Development and control of the university’s scholarship programs will help ensure proper management of student records.

As a member of the university’s student financial services, the Associate Financial Aid Director will recognize and coordinate projects, in order to improve the delivery of student financial information according to deadlines. This individual will actively participate in the development, organization, and implementation of the university’s financial policies and its compliance.

The Associate Financial Aid Director serves as a liaison and will work with the university financial aid department at varying levels. This individual will provide leadership to staff members regarding available scholarship opportunities throughout the university. They are responsible for overseeing staff members distribute scholarship information to new prospective students and continuing students.

This individual is responsible for working with faculty in the Admissions department to advertise upcoming scholarship opportunities. Administering, gathering, and processing all scholarship applications are essential in selecting the right recipients. Scholarships are awarded in accordance to the university’s financial aid policies and procedures.

The Associate Financial Aid Director will supervisor, coach, and train Student Financial Aid Counselors, to ensure they meet all established university goals. They will recognize accomplishment and achievements done by the student financial services.
