Schools most commonly offer graduate degrees in health science in the form of a Master of Health Science (M.H.S.); students enrolled can increase their knowledge and skills in a specific healthcare discipline. Two highly rated schools that offer MHS programs are Johns Hopkins University and Duke University. The program is offered by Johns Hopkins University through its school of public health while this program is available at Duke University through its medical school.

Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland

The U.S. News & World Report accorded Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health the top position in its 2007 list of top schools.
