Top Colleges That Offer Clinical Nursing Program

Higher Education Articles July 5, 2014

What are the best graduate schools for clinical nursing? Nursing is a career path with many levels and varying degree requirements. For those that want to advance further than simply being an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or RN (Registered Nurse), there is the option of gaining a Master’s Degree in Nursing and entering the Clinical Nursing Program. Before a candidate can enter the advanced nursing program, several prerequisites must be met, including a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing as well as a nursing license and experience in the field.

Taking Into Account Further Considerations

If you are considering a career path that includes the Clinical Nursing Program, it is first a good idea to research potential colleges as well as take into account the necessary time and effort required to attain that level of expertise.

While the requirements for gaining entrance to the program are fierce, those registered nurses with a desire to complete the clinical nursing program will find numerous options as to which graduate school to attend. However, just because a college may offer the clinical nursing program does not mean it is the best choice for a graduate student wishing to further his or her career. The following five nursing colleges are the best there is in regards to quality clinical nursing programs.

The Best Graduate Schools for Clinical Nursing

The best of the best is John Hopkins University, according to the U.S. News & World Report publication. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, Johns Hopkins has the well-deserved reputation as one of the finest medical schools in the country.

Another nursing college program tied for first with Johns Hopkins, according to the same source, is the University of Pennsylvania. Located in Philadelphia, PA, it is another good choice for any graduate student searching for a quality nursing program.

If location on the West Coast is a priority, another great choice for a quality nursing college is the University of Washington. Located in Seattle, Washington, U.S. News & World Report gave this school a rating of number one.

Other graduate schools with top-notch nursing programs are the University of California at San Francisco, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and Duke University.

Research Your Options

While each of the schools listed has a nursing college program that is competitive and tough, other factors come into play when choosing the right graduate school. Depending on a student’s needs, researching nursing colleges is a must. One good way to do so is to spend a little time online. For example, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing offers a list of nursing programs by state. With a little time and effort, choosing the right nursing college can be rewarding and fun.

One thing is certain: before entering the Clinical Nursing Program, a candidate would do well to research the program offered by each potential college to ensure proper placement. A few things to consider when choosing the correct school might be location, cost, availability, and success rate of candidates upon graduation.
