Technical schools and community colleges usually offer these two-year programs that require applicants to hold GED certificates or high school diplomas to qualify for admission.

Continuing Education Choices

Graduates may seek to join the workforce immediately or opt for continued education by enrolling in a bachelor’s degree program in a computer-related field such as information systems. Professional certification, augmented by additional training and work experience can help these professionals seek supervisory or managerial jobs.

Professional certification is offered through training programs, certifying organizations and product vendors. There are training courses that students can take in order to prepare for certification in particular areas of specialization, such as Certified Microsoft Office User (CMOU) or Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS).
