Students enrolled in the two-year computer management program will be trained in techniques using graphics desktop publishing, database and spreadsheet software along with business skills such as supervision, leadership and communication. Students are taught how to troubleshoot, operate and design software and computer systems. Admission criteria typically require applicants to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.

Associate degree program courses explore theories in database design, accounting, and programming. Depending on the program, some might include a course in portfolio development. Program course topics may include the following:

Associate degree program graduates may enter the workforce in different industries, which employ in-house technical staff. Employers today want more than just computer literate management and staff members, but instead computer qualified professionals. Additional skills such as communication and problem solving may improve a resume and provide recent graduates an edge in this field. Graduates may obtain the following job titles:

Certification and Continuing Education Information

Associate degree program graduates may further their education by pursuing a four-year bachelor degree program in computer information management or systems. These degree programs will train students on how to identify information technologies and communicate with team members. Graduates who do not want to continue their education immediately, the associate degree program will prepare them for additional certification in numerous computer related areas. Some of the certifications available are CompTIA A+, MTA Windows Server Fundamentals, MTA Networking Fundamentals, and IC3 Global Stand 3. The associate degree program will prepare students for initial user certification in Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and Word.
