Most postsecondary institutions do not offer Associate of Business Science (A.B.S.) in Business Computer Applications degree programs; students who are interested in learning about business computer applications should consider Associate of Science (A.S.) degree programs.
A.S. in Business Computer Management Degree Program
Students enrolled in an Associate of Science in Business Computer Management degree program will be trained through coursework that focus on the use of computer hardware and software. Students are required to work with a variety of office equipment, including personal computers, transcription equipment and other technology related to the field. Program coursework includes administration, marketing, communications and accounting. Admission criteria usually require applicants to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma. Those who successfully complete the associate degree program will be qualified to take the Microsoft Office User certification examinations.
The associate degree program consist of sixty-one to sixty-five credit hours and usually takes two years to complete, if students are enrolled full-time. Coursework concentrates on computer software applications and business studies. Students will gain experience through office simulations. They can also complete an internship program.
