Degree Overview: Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) Degree in e-Business
Majors Overview March 18, 2014Students will be prepared to handle the different challenges of performing business online when they participate in a Bachelor of Business Administration degree program in e-Business. Both Internet and traditional business concepts will be taught to students in order to help them utilize their skills in the electronic worldwide marketplace.
B.B.A. Programs in e-Business
Students enrolled in Bachelor of Business Administration programs with an e-Business concentration are taught about designing and implementing online companies and are also exposed to the traditional aspects of business. Students can expect to become adept at creating and managing e-commerce websites, using information systems to enhance business processes and financial data to create e-business strategies. Schools may also teach online marketing concepts aimed at allowing the successful promotion of companies on the Internet and giving a comprehensive understanding of the global marketplace. Programs also teach human resources, management, business law, finance and accounting.
Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.
Coursework
Courses typically focus on the fundamentals of business while covering the technological skills necessary for conducting business on the Internet. Coursework in e-Business courses is devised to make students adept at building websites and user interfaces, using online payment systems and securing transactions. An e-Business program may include topic areas such as:

Continuing Education Choices
Graduates may seek continued education by earning a Business or Technical Master’s degree with an e-Business concentration. The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and the Master of Science in Information Technology (M.S.I.T.) are two degrees with this concentration offered by schools. The Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) degree may also be pursued by students interested in advanced studies in Business, though schools may not offer a doctoral program with an e-Business concentration. Graduates enrolled in the DBA program can become business researchers, or pursue teaching jobs at universities.
