Information on Master’s Degree Programs in Intercultural Studies

A master’s degree program in intercultural studies is devised to impart expertise in intercultural cooperation and communication aimed at promoting a better understanding of human interactions. Program graduates may also seek advancement in their current careers. Program graduates can seek careers in conflict resolution, international business, communication, ministry services and human rights. Students enrolled in some programs are allowed to choose a specific focus area, such as Christian ethics, theology, or family and culture.

Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (M.A.I.C.S.) Programs

The program is devised to develop proficiencies, such as cultural sensitivity, cross-cultural communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. The study of various cultures can enable students to gain a grasp of human needs throughout international communities. Completion of an intercultural practicum or a written project based on research may be within program coursework as a capstone experience. Many theological seminaries, universities, and colleges typically offer intercultural studies master’s degree programs as a Master of Arts (M.A.).
