Public university system in Alabama is a research-based initiative made up of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama. Similar degree programs are being offered by every school in the University of Alabama System, all with a research-oriented approach to learning.

A board of trustees oversees the University of Alabama system, which aims to serve people residing in Alabama with its outreach and research-based programs. The University of Alabama system encourages economic growth of Alabama, and collaborates with elementary, secondary, and postsecondary institutions of learning.

University of Alabama in Huntsville

This is a research university that spends most of its revenue on research across the United States, a lot of this have to do with the University of Alabama in Huntsville partnerships with the United States Army, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and other similar agencies. University of Alabama in Huntsville offers sixty-one degree programs in areas such as liberal arts, nursing, science, engineering, and business administration.

University of Alabama at Birmingham

This is an interdisciplinary research university equipped with medical facilities that are renowned for their technological sophistication. The University of Alabama at Birmingham curriculum mainly concentrates on humanities, the arts, science and medicine. Several programs unique to the nation, region and state are offered at the school. These programs include:

University of Alabama

This is a student-oriented research institution that offers more than two hundred degree programs at the doctoral, master and bachelor levels. Majors offered include interior design, marine science, theater, biology, advertising, anthropology, history and accounting. Programs for the disabled, international seminars and a freshman learning community are among the other programs at the university.
