Hudson Valley Community College
Hudson Valley Community College was founded in 1953, and is part of the State University of New York system. Over seventy certificate and degree programs are offered at the college in industrial technology, business, engineering and liberal arts. In 2008, Hudson Valley Community College had over 65,000 alumni and ranked 52nd in the nation for the number of associate degrees awarded annually. In January 2010, a facility called Tec-Smart was opened at the college, with more than a dozen classrooms and laboratories intended to train students in alternate fuels and energy systems among other green technologies.

Rensselaer Polytechnic University
Established in 1824 as the Rensselaer School, Rensselaer Polytechnic University is the oldest technology school in the United States. The school offers over 145 bachelor and master degree programs in architecture, engineering, and science. Rensselaer opened an interdisciplinary and biotechnology studies center in 2008, providing the opportunity for an array of research in biomedical engineering, chemistry, and chemical biology. In 2010, according to the United States News & World Report, Rensselaer was among America’s leading universities.

SUNY at Albany
This school offers over 120 master degree programs and over 100 undergraduate majors; SUNY at Albany is a public research institute with a student body and faculty representing over 100 countries. Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has rated the school among the nation’s best for academics and affordability. In 2009, Forbes rated the university on its list of ‘America’s Best Public Colleges’.
