While administrative professionals in the medical fields earned an average annual salary of $30,530, administrative professionals in the field of law took home an average annual salary of $41,500. The highest average annual salary was earned by executive assistants who took home $42,530. A job growth rate of eleven percent was projected for administrative professionals during the period from 2008 to 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Certification and Continuing Education Information

Administrative professionals often receive training on the job, but individuals who seek a professional edge in the field will benefit by completing a bachelor degree program. There are also many professional organizations that award certification to administrative professionals specialized in law. The Association of Executive and Administrative Professionals and the International Association of Administrative Professionals are some examples of such certifying organizations.
