Students will become knowledgeable in basic hardware, interfacing, and circuitry installation.
Associate Degree Program in Electronics and Computer Technology
Students enrolled in electronics and computer technology associate degree programs will be trained on the installation, setup, operation, maintenance and repair of network devices and equipment. Advanced topics in micro-processing and electronic industrial controls micro-processing are explored by students during their progress through the coursework. They gain familiarity with the electronics in mainframe and traditional personal computers employed in industrial systems. Their work may also involve electronics employed in microcomputers that can be found in virtually everything, including small and large appliances, airplanes and cars. Admission criteria typically require applicants to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.
Program Coursework
The two-year associate degree program combines hands-on practical experience with classroom lecture on hardware repair, software installation, and computer programming. Students are required to complete general coursework that may include classes in liberal arts, history, English, science, and math. Additional practical experience will be gained through internship experiences. Program course topics may include the following:

Career Options
Students who have earned their associate’s degree are qualified for entry-level positions in technology-related fields.
