Associate Degree Program in Multimedia Development and Management

Multimedia management and development degree programs generally are not found at the associate degree level; however, there are multimedia degree programs that include courses in multimedia and website development, along with management and business. Students can earn their associate’s degree in programs such as multimedia communications, web and digital media development, and web media. In general, the degree may be earned within two years, if students are enrolled full-time. To gain admission into the associate degree program, students are required to have at least a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.

Students will develop knowledge and skills of things such as digital media development, website maintenance and development, and web programming language through the course curriculum in multimedia degree programs. Program course topics generally include the following:

Continuing Education Information

In order to gain a deep understanding of multimedia development, students may go on to earn bachelor and master degrees. Multimedia management degree programs will provide students with additional insight into the business aspect of digital and web media. With experience, most professionals in this field may advance to positions such as chief designer or art director. Others go on to teach at higher education institutions, while some may choose to start their own firms. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, depending on the job, some do require a minimum of a bachelor degree; employers in graphic programming and graphic design are generally among those that favor education beyond the associate degree level.
