Majors Overview March 13, 2014Those interested in becoming educated in administration, leadership, and management should look into a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business. Students will be taught how to work efficiently in business environments, and to make ethical and sound decisions. It is more common to find Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) or Bachelor of Science in Business degree programs than Bachelor of Business (B.B.) degree programs.
B.S. Programs in Business
Concentration areas within the business field are commonly offered by business programs aimed at allowing students to focus on specific areas of a broad field, such as human resources, information systems management, accounting, finance or marketing. Internship opportunities may also be included in programs whereby students are allowed to gain hands-on experience in the concentration area of choice in the business field. It typically takes four years to complete these programs. Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.

Classes offered may include strategic management, capital structure and the legal environment, among others. In the majority of cases, it could take 1-2 years to complete the MBA program with students given the opportunity to receive an internship between the first two years.
