Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree Programs in eBusiness

Schools may not offer a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in eBusiness; however, interested students can pursue similar programs, such as a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in E-Commerce Technology, or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Management with a specialization in eBusiness. Students enrolled in the program engage in the exploration of the use of current technological tools to help companies increase their productivity and enhance their marketing. An overview of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degrees in E-Commerce Technology and general business principles are provided by the Bachelor of Science in (B.S.) eBusiness program, aimed at helping students to pursue the development of useful digital resources to satisfy the needs of organizations.

This bachelor’s program enables students to develop a firm understanding of how the intersection of information technologies (IT) with modern business approaches can impact various other business aspects positively, apart from service and efficiency.

Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.

Coursework

The beginning of the program is marked by a focus on numerous general business subject areas, including management, marketing and accounting, aimed at ensuring that students understand the rudiments of effective commerce. Coursework thereafter proceeds in the direction of imparting understanding of computer science principles, with a particular emphasis on network architecture, programming and web development. Students who successfully complete the program can expect to become adept at developing and analyzing eBusiness applications, and participate in internships aimed at furthering their career prospects. Classroom lectures and seminars cover such subject areas as:

•Database development
•Human-computer interaction
•Programming in Java
•E-Marketing
•Internet applications
•Macroeconomics

Career Choices

Once they complete the program, graduates can seek entry-level jobs in the field, in addition to advance their grasp of graduate-level electronic commerce. They can eventually seek job titles such as:

•Systems analyst
•Advertising manager
•E-Marketing consultant
•Web developer

Continuing Education Choices

A graduate of an eBusiness program can pursue continued education by enrolling in a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program aimed at gaining an in-depth outline of business management principles. Master’s level coursework is devised to allow students to focus on concentrations in eBusiness, to gain an understanding of how to impact a company’s relationship with consumers positively and further advancing a business by integrating technology.
