Business Management Major
Schools often offer business management degrees at the bachelor’s level; students enrolled in the program are taught about managing, directing, planning, and controlling a business’ activities. To this end, they prepare tax returns and supervise employees, in addition to performing a host of other duties.
Schools also offer associate’s and master’s degree programs, apart from professional certificate and graduate certificate courses and doctorate programs. Business management degree programs are offered in accelerated, online, and on-campus formats.

In 2010, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, graduates of a bachelor’s degree in business management banked an average annual wage between $39,723 and $74,391. Among these professionals, retail store assistant managers earned the lowest, on average, while human resources directors were the top earners. Among middle-level earners were general and operations managers ($64,522), construction project managers ($61,034), operations managers ($59,178), human resources managers ($57,673), and retail store managers ($45,427).
