Students will be taught about management terminology, computer software applications, and technical business management when they participate in the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program in Applied Management. This program will provide entry-level management skills needed for work in a variety of fields, such as marketing management or cost estimation.
B.S. Programs in Applied Management
Students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program in Applied Management are taught about resolving problems, communicating in a business setting, managing employees through the employment of human resource concepts, and functioning in a global business setting and demonstrating advanced knowledge of business computer systems. They are also taught team work, leadership and professional ethics and gain the skills necessary for the demonstration of leadership and application of ethical practices in team environments.
Apart from a GED certificate or high school diploma, students who have completed another 2-year accredited program such as an associate’s degree can enroll in applied management programs that are specifically designed for them.
Coursework in an Applied Management program is devised to provide training that combines business programs with general education classes. Basic skills, such as math and communication are taught to students. Managerial finance, design operations, international business and strategic management may be explored in management specific courses. Specialty areas may be offered in some programs; these include Information Technology and Marketing. Coursework may include topic areas such as:

Continuing Education Choices
Bachelor’s degree graduates may seek continued education by earning master’s degrees in Business and Business specializations. Master of Management Studies (M.M.S.), Master of Business Taxation (M.B.T.), Master of Accounting (M.A.), and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) are some degree options available to them. Students enrolled in master’s degree programs are provided with practical knowledge and advanced research skills and a thesis requirement may also be included. Specializations in areas such as Marketing or Corporate Finance are also allowed in many MBA programs.
