Financial retail sales assistant is one of the most in-demand jobs today. Plenty of companies in the country, especially those in the retail industry, are expanding, and they are in need of financial retail sales assistants to suffice the needs of their customers. Although job vacancies are overwhelming, it is not hard to apply for the position. Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of a registered financial retail sales assistant is to provide sales or general clerical support to registered representatives. Retail sales assistants are the ones responsible for opening new sales accounts, processing orders for clients, and answering all questions regarding the services and products that the company is offering to customers.

It is also the duty and responsibility of financial retail sales assistant to create reports for the sales forces, regarding sales results, team earnings, and market conditions. It is the sole duty of the registered sales assistant to perform administrative work, to support not only the company manager, but also the sales people in the field. Whenever non-registered sales assistants need help, they can rely on registered sales assistants support.

Among the office tasks that you must tackle include answering phone calls, tracking accounts, taking notes during sales meeting, and typing reports. Other duties include light bookkeeping duties and sending emails, to promote the products that the company offers.

Registered retail sales assistants must be skilled typists and have an understanding of what customer service is. They must be courteous, motivated, professional, and capable of multi-tasking, as they will be doing multiple office related tasks at once, at any given time.

Education, Experience and Skills

Applicants aspiring to become a financial retail sales assistant must have NASD series 7 and 63 licenses, and thorough knowledge about the organization’s products and services. They must be familiar with the standard practices, procedures, and concepts within the area. They must report to their supervisor or manager whenever they need to, and a certain degree of latitude and creativity is required.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any specialty, and 2-4 years of experience in a certain area is an advantage.

As a registered retails sales assistant, you will be working with the different committees within the organization, primarily the sale team. You will also be working with the company’s production department as well as presenting sales presentation to the company’s heads of departments. Therefore, you must be flexible at all times. The position requires a person with good communications skills: oral and written. You must be willing to work under supervisions and under pressure.
