Northern Virginia Community College – Alexandria Campus
This campus is located within 3.5 miles from the city center of Alexandria. Associate of Science and Associate of Arts degrees are awarded by the college that offers students various program options including information technology, engineering, music and fine arts. Students can prepare their career by completing applied certificates and associate degrees in various fields including hospitality management, communication design, automotive technology and architecture technology. George Mason University
George Mason University main campus is located in Fairfax, Virginia, which is about ten miles from Alexandria in northern Virginia’s technology corridor. More than 100 degree programs are offered at the university that is renowned for its graduate and undergraduate degree programs in biotechnology, engineering, healthcare and information technology. The university has hosted several groundbreaking researches in the fields of information technology, cancer, bio-sciences and climate change. Several of the university’s programs has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report, including the law school, which was ranked by the magazine among the nation’s thirty best law schools in 2010. Marymount University
This school is located in Arlington, Virginia, approximately six miles from Alexandria, Marymount University offers certificate, bachelor, and master degree programs. There are several academic programs to select from at this coeducational Catholic university that includes a School of Business Administration, School of Health Professions, School of Arts and Sciences, and School of Education and Human Services.
