Within the associate degree program in architectural engineering technology, students will learn computer-aided design (CAD) systems, ethics in designing structures, and numerous areas of construction. Associate degree programs provide a foundation to individuals who seek education in the process of architecture and for those who may want to pursue their education.
Architecture Engineering Technology Associate Degree Program
Students who complete the architecture education degree programs will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) or Associate of Sciences (A.S.) in architectural engineering technology degree. Through the degree programs, students will gain proficiencies in executing estimates, examining figures and facts, creating architectural presentations and prints, and computers. Also, students will gain hands-on experience through lab work or work in the field. Typically, individuals who want to enroll in an associate degree program in architecture are required to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.

Typically, architectural engineering technology associate degree programs are offered at universities, technical schools, and community colleges. Program coursework may include graphing, measuring, drawing techniques, and construction systems. Students will gain practical skills and knowledge through specific projects, speeches, and seminars. Salary Information and Employment Outlook
Between 2008 and 2018, the employment outlook for architects, excluding naval and landscape jobs, would increase by sixteen percent as predicted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS – www.bls.gov). Reports conducted by the BLS, during May 2008, the average annual salary for the engineering and architects occupations were $73,590. May 2009, a report has indicated that architects, except naval and landscape, earned an average annual salary of $78,880.
Continuing Education
Individuals who have earned their associate degree may want to further their education in architecture by pursuing a bachelor degree program in architecture at a four-year university. Students will examine different in-depth studies of architecture, including systems, concepts, and plans. Course topics may include mechanical design, physical location, construction resources, construction systems, and CAD.
