Colleges and universities that offer associate degrees in executive office educate students on computer programs, administrative skills, and other qualities essential in succeeding modern-day office environment. Individuals with an associate degree in executive office will be prepared to work as supervisors, managers, assistants, and more. Students who have completed the associate degree program will also be qualified to work in various industries.

Associate of Executive Office

Colleges and universities can offer executive office associate degrees as Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) or Associate of Applied Business (A.A.B.). Students can usually earn their degree within two years, if they are enrolled in the program full-time. Between 2008 and 2018, executive secretaries employment outlook were expected to grow as fast as other occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS – www.bls.gov). In February 2012, Payscale.com stated that executive assistants earned an annual salary of $30,099 to $68,847.

Information on Continuing Education

Administrative assistants and secretaries are offered certification by several agencies, including the International Virtual Assistants Association, the National Association of Legal Secretaries and the International Association of Administrative Professionals. The Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) and the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) are among the most popular certifications sought by these professionals. Qualifications for these certifications require candidates to pass an examination and have sufficient experience along with education.
