Master of Management (M.M.) Programs in Human Resource Management

Students enrolled in a Master of Human Resource Management degree program may be instructed on the latest tools and business strategies used in human resources. Students enrolled in many programs are required to have prior work experience in the field, apart from a bachelor’s degree. Students may be able to choose between on-campus or online learning or a combination of both modes; schools often require internships. Students usually take up to two years to earn a master’s degree wherein they can customize the coursework in order to specialize in certain areas of human resource management.

Education Requirements

Admission criteria may require incoming students to have prior professional experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree, in addition to satisfying minimum GPA requirements. Some schools may require applicants to submit Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores.

Coursework

In 2012, these professionals brought in wages ranging between $59,020 and $173,140. The maximum wages ($156,360 average per annum) earned by these professionals, who worked mainly in the management department of companies, were paid at securities and commodities brokerages.

Continuing Education Choices

Program graduates may seek continued education by earning Ph.D. degrees in Human Resources, often offered in combination with relevant fields such as organizational behavior or management. Coursework in these programs is commonly devised to train professionals to perform research-based work, scholarly, and academic; the programs typically end with the completion of a dissertation.
