Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Business Administration

While colleges and universities do not offer an A.S.B. degree in business administration, they could offer an A.A.S. in Business Administration. The degree program will teach students the fundamentals of marketing and management through internships and projects. Students will learn about international economies, different business concepts, and basics of free enterprise. Programs will prepare students for entry-level positions in the areas of retail, management, and real estate.

Typically, these programs take approximately two years to complete, if students are enrolled full-time. To gain admission into the program, students are required to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.

Students will learn about business administration through group projects and internships. Programs may cover problem solving solutions, the laws of business, accounting, and management strategies. Program course topics may include the following:

Career Options

Associate degree program in business administration will provide students with the educational tools needed to work as sales representatives, financiers, and bankers. Internships will be available as an educational supplement and working experience. Individuals may pursue the following career options:

•Business systems analyst

Associate degree program graduates should consider pursuing a four-year bachelor degree program in business administration. These programs will concentrate on standard business skills, including small business management, leadership, and supervisory management, and will also offer concentration options in areas such as marketing, finance, or accounting. Bachelor degree programs are usually required for administration and management positions in the business world. Students who want to advance their business skills should consider pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program as soon as they have completed the bachelor degree program.
