Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Business Administration

While colleges and universities do not offer an A.S.B. degree in business administration, they could offer an A.A.S. in Business Administration. The degree program will teach students the fundamentals of marketing and management through internships and projects. Students will learn about international economies, different business concepts, and basics of free enterprise. Programs will prepare students for entry-level positions in the areas of retail, management, and real estate.

Typically, these programs take approximately two years to complete, if students are enrolled full-time. To gain admission into the program, students are required to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate or a high school diploma.

Students will learn about business administration through group projects and internships. Programs may cover problem solving solutions, the laws of business, accounting, and management strategies. Program course topics may include the following:

Associate degree program graduates should consider pursuing a four-year bachelor degree program in business administration. Bachelor degree programs are usually required for administration and management positions in the business world. Students who want to advance their business skills should consider pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program as soon as they have completed the bachelor degree program.
