Students will be taught how to create user-friendly applications that will catch the attention of others. Those that graduate may manage and create websites for government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other companies.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree Programs in Website Development and Management
Students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programs are provided with training in the creation, operation, and monitoring of sites for individuals and organizations. Students can expect to become adept at using computer coding, creating interactive website features, and modifying applications. They are trained to address business needs, implement Internet marketing strategies, and monitor site activity. While a bachelor’s degree is sufficient for most entry-level occupations in this field, those aspiring for upper-management or administrative positions would benefit by earning a master’s degree. While a master’s degree does not necessarily have to be in a technology-oriented area, many technology professionals pursue master’s degree programs in business.
Professional certification would help website developers and designers to showcase their skills and knowledge of specific computer languages or software programs to potential employers. Passage of a written exam or practical skill test would be needed to obtain most technology certification credentials.
