Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) Programs in Civil Engineering
A Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Civil Engineering program provides specialized training in supervising and managing building, road, tunnel, airport, bridge, sewage system, and water supply construction. Coursework in such programs has a practical, rather than theoretical, orientation; several areas of the engineering design process are in the program – these include project scheduling and cost estimating. Schools usually don’t mandate a thesis requirement. Students can usually complete programs within about two years. Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in an engineering-related major.
Education Requirements
Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related major. Prior work experience may be a requirement for some schools or the submission of GRE or Fundamentals of Engineering test scores.
