Earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business

Students will be taught general knowledge needed for managerial positions in government, non-profit organizations, and businesses if they choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business. Similar programs can be offered under different names, such as a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.). Those who graduate from these programs will be prepared for graduate-level business programs at master’s and doctoral levels.

B.S. Programs in Business

Students enrolled in Bachelor of Science degree programs in Business are typically required to complete courses that stress leadership, fundamental management procedures, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Students enrolled in many business schools are required to select a specialized area of concentration, such as Business Administration, Marketing or Accounting. Coursework is commonly devised to impart training to students in handling financial situations as well as managing personnel. Students can expect to complete these programs in four years.

Admission criteria typically require incoming students to hold a GED certificate or high school diploma.

In 2012, these professionals took home average annual wages of $67,520, $119,480 and $99,720, respectively (BLS).

Graduates from a Bachelor of Science in Business can seek continued education by earning master’s degrees in Business Administration or a related field, such as Accounting or International Business.
