Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in Business Management

Students who are enrolled in an associate degree program in business management will earn an Associate in Applied Science degree, and the program will educate students in business-related management responsibilities. Students who have earned their AAS degree in business management may pursue various career fields, such as a small business operation, entry-level management positions, or similar entrepreneurial goals.

AAS Degree in Business Management

AAS in Business Management programs usually concentrate on subjects such as current trends in the field, microcomputer applications, and business communications. Students will learn about sales, managing finances, purchasing goods and services, supervising, and marketing. Typically, the degree programs offer courses in utilizing financial analyses, developing business plans, removing and recognizing problems, reading balance sheets, and analyzing financial statements. Students will gain skills in leadership, teamwork, planning, organizing, problem solving, decision making, and communication as they learn managerial roles, legal implications, and business simulations. In most cases, students participate in application-based projects, case studies, and discussions.

Admission criteria require individuals who are seeking enrollment to a business management degree program to have a mathematical educational background or basic mathematical knowledge of processes and functions, including decimals, fractions, division, multiplication, subtraction and addition.

Coursework in an associate degree program in business management usually concentrate on preparing students for a future in the business industry through studies in accounting, operating, and management needs.
