A.S. in Business Administration

Students enrolled in an associate degree program in business administration can gain basic skills and knowledge to pursue entry-level supervisory jobs in various businesses and industries. Students are typically imparted basic instruction in areas such as public relations, business communication, organization, employee relations, and staffing. Coursework includes practice on computers using spreadsheet programs and word processing. Financial principles, including preparing financial statements, balancing ledgers, and bookkeeping, are in included in the degree program, as well as business ethics and laws. Generally, schools require applicants to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate and a high school diploma.

Certificate programs are available in fields such as financial management, management, entrepreneurship, and accounting. In addition, individuals who are interested in advancing their career opportunities should consider applying to an undergraduate degree program in business administration. Typically, Associate of Science degree in Business administration is designed to allow students to transfer credits earned to a relevant four-year bachelor degree program.
