Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree in Business Administration

A.S. in Business Administration

Students enrolled in an associate degree program in business administration can gain basic skills and knowledge to pursue entry-level supervisory jobs in various businesses and industries. Students are typically imparted basic instruction in areas such as public relations, business communication, organization, employee relations, and staffing. Coursework includes practice on computers using spreadsheet programs and word processing. Financial principles, including preparing financial statements, balancing ledgers, and bookkeeping, are in included in the degree program, as well as business ethics and laws. Generally, schools require applicants to hold a general educational development (GED) certificate and a high school diploma.

Program Coursework

Typically, these two-year degree programs require sixty to sixty-four credits. Depending on the programs, some will off internship opportunities that will give students the chance to apply classroom learning to a business environment. Continuing Education

Students will be kept up-to-date with new business methods and models, as well as the ability to expand their knowledge through the certificate programs. Certificate programs are available in fields such as financial management, management, entrepreneurship, and accounting. In addition, individuals who are interested in advancing their career opportunities should consider applying to an undergraduate degree program in business administration. Typically, Associate of Science degree in Business administration is designed to allow students to transfer credits earned to a relevant four-year bachelor degree program.
