Places to Find Free Marketing Courses Online

Marketing can be any way in which businesses and entrepreneur seek to inform potential customers about their products and services. Here is a list of several excellent free online resources to gain more knowledge in marketing.

Information on Online Course Requirement

Online students will need to know that no free materials or courses are offered for credit, and all materials are available for learning at an individual’s pace. Colleges and Universities may or may not offer all required content that is involved with the online course. These courses employ media such as quizzes, web content, lecture notes, assignments, audio podcasts, and video that allow students to learn the material. Several topics covered include industrial and markets change, loyalty, sustainability, branding, and entrepreneurship. Talks will be given by former governmental figures, CEOs, and leading industry insiders.

The most current themes in branding, tourism and business as applicable to marketing strategies and techniques are explored in online episodes. Diverse topics such as fundraising promotion, tourism marketing, brand differentiation, sustainability, and celebrity sponsorship are covered in the episodes.

Kutztown University: Marketing 101 Course

Fundamentals of marketing, including the five P’s, namely, positioning, place, price, promotion and product are covered with course materials. Audio instructions, web content and online tutorials are incorporated in these materials to teach students about the subject. Coursework commonly includes estimating market size, business research, customer research, wants, needs, services and goods.

Marketingpower.com: Podcasts

Usually, the American Marketing Association sponsor these podcasts, allow online students to listen in on industry leaders marketing insights. Students will explore issues such as marketers as agents of change, politics of selling, collaborative imagining, and keeping sales up in slow markets.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): Entrepreneurial Marketing

Entrepreneurs who want to market and sell products face some basic restraints; students enrolled in this course learn about these restraints. They are also taught about how to manage customers, price tools, overcome market resistance, create a new market and sustain competitive advantages, apart from market research. However, the course does not give access to all materials online.

Ohio State University: Ohio Direct Marketing Podcasts

Ohio State University offer podcasts that allow online students to gather expert knowledge on Ohio marketing practices and trends. Video and audio podcasts cover topics such as responding to growth, bringing the customer back, forming cooperatives, direct marketing strategies, and consumer trends. Often, talks are given by directors, specialists, and educators.

Pepperdine University: How to Create Advocates with Loyalty

Pepperdine University offer podcasts that focus on branding issues and customer loyalty. The talk discusses key issues, including the SEER (Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible) model, making emotional connections, maintaining loyalty, and implementing core values.

Stanford University: Two Generations of Entrepreneurship

Students are offered a generational look at entrepreneurship through course materials from Stanford University. In this online podcast, common topics for entrepreneurs are taught by lecturers through the perspective of real corporate experiences.

The Open University: Innovation, Markets and Industrial Change

Students enrolled in this program learn how production and sales shape markets. Coursework covers topic areas such as network externalities, industry life cycles, and technology costs, as related to markets. The program employs short quizzes and figures to impart understanding of the course content to learners.

The University of Chicago: Chicago Booth Series Podcast Archive

University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business podcasts offer students the opportunity to listen in on several notable talks about pressing business issues. Common issues related to marketing include the truth about marketing, media biases, and the future of markets. Often, talks in this series are given by former governmental figures and CEOs.

University of California Television: Health Promotion and Marketing Podcasts

Podcasts are offered through the University of California Television that allows online students to examine how marketing can affect health issues. Common themes from these podcasts include social marketing for health promotion in Mexico and California, industry sponsored marketing, and the effects of marketing on D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) marketing.
