The former of these requires sophomore status and over 30 credits by the end of the spring semester, along with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, as well as involvement in a university organization. The latter, the Betty Beckley Award, helps students realize their dreams as well as their goals, and is based on the work of Betty J. Beckley, a former Director and Dean. This award also focuses on sophomores who take the initiative to be involved in organizations related to schooling. The qualifications for this scholarship are based on academic achievements as well as financial need, in addition to the efforts of each student, when it comes to extracurricular school activities.
